Le Cafe Francais Renovation Project | Colombo, Sri Lanka The space was designed to move effortlessly from dining to nightlife, without losing its identity. Asean Sourcing Bali – Indonesia completed the renovation of a 120-seat French-inspired trendy restaurant and club located in Colombo, the economic capital of Sri Lanka. The project required a careful balance between strong visual identity, atmosphere, and durability, in a space designed to operate day to night. Our scope covered the interior concept development, furniture sample production, and production and quality control monitoring in Indonesia. From the outset, the objective was clear: create a distinctive venue with character and energy, while ensuring every element could withstand intensive commercial use. The interior concept was developed around a bold yet refined aesthetic, blending contemporary French influences with a vibrant, nightlife-ready atmosphere. The design focused on contrasts—textures, lighting, and furniture forms—to create depth and rhythm throughout the space. Seating layouts were carefully planned to support both dining and social interaction, allowing the venue to transition seamlessly from restaurant to club. Furniture played a central role in shaping the experience. Custom pieces were designed and prototyped through physical mock-ups and samples, allowing proportions, comfort, finishes, and detailing to be refined before production. This step was critical in aligning design intent with real-world use, particularly for high-traffic seating and feature pieces that define the venue’s identity.   All furniture and selected interior elements were produced in Indonesia under Asean Sourcing’s direct production and quality control supervision. Materials, upholstery, finishes, and construction methods were closely monitored to ensure consistency across batches and long-term durability. This hands-on approach reduced risk, avoided costly rework, and ensured the final installation matched the approved samples. Working across borders, Asean Sourcing acted as the link between design, manufacturing, and delivery, simplifying communication for the client and protecting the integrity of the concept throughout the process. By managing both creative and technical aspects, we ensured the renovated venue delivered not only a strong visual impact but also a reliable, operationally sound interior. This project demonstrates Asean Sourcing’s capability to support hospitality and nightlife venues where atmosphere, branding, and execution quality are equally critical—turning concept ideas into build-ready, commercially successful spaces.

Akwa Palace Hotel Renovation Cameroon | West Africa Asean Sourcing Indonesia is currently delivering the FF&E and OS&E procurement management, production monitoring, and quality control for the Akwa Palace Hotel renovation in Cameroon, West Africa — a project that reflects both the modernising trajectory of the country’s hospitality industry and the growing expectations of international travellers and business guests. The hotel comprises two distinct buildings — a luxury modern wing and a colonial-style wing — together housing 200 deluxe rooms, junior suites, and senior suites. The property also features two restaurants and an outdoor pool bar, blending casual social spaces with refined overnight accommodation. Our scope includes the refurbishment of 124 guest rooms, ensuring that interiors feel contemporary, comfortable, and operationally robust. Cameroon’s hotel sector has been gaining broader attention as investors and operators take note of rising tourism and business travel demand. In recent months, Yaoundé — the nation’s capital — inaugurated the Concord International Hotel, a 5-star property backed by local stakeholders and government officials that has positioned the city as an emerging luxury hospitality hub. Meanwhile, renovation plans for the Hilton Yaoundé aim to modernise that flagship asset and align it with international standards, signalling a broader trend toward refurbishment and repositioning of existing inventory rather than only new builds. This environment makes the Akwa Palace refurbishment particularly relevant: it’s not merely a facelift, but a strategic upgrade that aligns the hotel with evolving guest expectations in a competitive regional market. The dual-wing concept required a nuanced approach — ensuring that the modern wing delivers a fresh, contemporary experience, while the colonial wing respects the character and heritage of its architecture. That balance demanded meticulous FF&E planning, rigorous production reviews in Indonesia, and a quality control framework that anticipates service-heavy use cycles. On a macro level, Cameroon is also attracting major global hospitality brands, with international groups like Marriott planning future development in the country. That trajectory underscores the importance of execution quality on projects like Akwa Palace: local operators and developers will increasingly be judged against international benchmarks. Aston Inn Mataram West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia | Archipelago International Group Asean Sourcing was engaged for the Aston Inn Mataram project to manage FF&E and OS&E procurement and quality control in Indonesia, acting as the bridge between the design concept, local manufacturing, and the operational standards of an international hotel operator. Aston Inn Mataram is a strategically positioned city hotel designed to serve both business and leisure travellers. The project required a balance between contemporary design, cost efficiency, and high operational durability—a typical challenge for mid-scale hospitality brands where design still needs to feel premium while remaining commercially disciplined. The hotel comprises 184 keys across Superior, Deluxe, and Suite categories, complemented by a 120-seat restaurant, spa and fitness facilities, an outdoor swimming pool, and four conference rooms capable of hosting up to 500 guests. Each area carried different technical and performance requirements, demanding a highly coordinated procurement strategy rather than a one-size-fits-all approach. Our role was not to reinterpret the design, but to deliver it accurately, repeatedly, and at scale—without compromising quality or budget. Project Challenges One of the key challenges was maintaining design consistency across a large number of rooms while working within a controlled budget. Small variations in finishes, joinery details, or proportions can quickly dilute the overall design when multiplied across 184 rooms. This risk is amplified when multiple factories and suppliers are involved. Another major consideration was logistics and quality control in a non-Java location. Mataram’s geographic position required careful planning to avoid delays, damage during transport, and site coordination issues—particularly for large FF&E items and custom-made furniture. In addition, the project demanded hospitality-grade performance across all items. Furniture, finishes, and accessories had to meet the operational expectations of Archipelago International, including durability, ease of maintenance, and long-term lifecycle performance—without compromising the design intent established by the interior team. How Asean Sourcing Made It Work From the start, Asean Sourcing’s role was to support the design team and simplify execution, not to overcomplicate the process. We worked closely with designers, suppliers, and the client to make sure ideas on paper could be produced consistently and delivered as intended. Asean Sourcing Bali – Indonesia completed the FF&E and OS&E procurement management and production monitoring for a 5-Star Pullman hotel located in the Olympic city of Sochi. The project required a high level of coordination between international design standards, complex custom FF&E production, and long-distance logistics. As a flagship Pullman property, the hotel was positioned to deliver a contemporary, lifestyle-driven experience while meeting the technical and operational expectations of a global luxury brand. The hotel features 150 keys, including Deluxe Rooms, Deluxe Suites, and Grand Suites, along with a trendy restaurant, an art bar, and a Fit & Spa Lounge with an infinity pool on the 16th floor. The property also includes a large conference and events centre of 2,300 m² (24,757 sq. ft), supported by a fully equipped business centre.   As a central coordination point between designers, manufacturers, and the project team, we translated design specifications into clear production guidelines and monitored manufacturing closely to ensure materials, finishes, and construction details matched the approved intent. Regular production checks and progress monitoring allowed potential issues to be identified and resolved early, long before items reached site. This reduced risk, protected timelines, and ensured consistent quality across all FF&E packages.   Where technical or budget constraints arose, we worked with suppliers to propose practical adjustments that respected the original design concept while remaining compliant with brand standards and performance requirements. The Pullman Sochi project highlights Asean Sourcing’s ability to manage complex, international hospitality procurement with a hands-on approach. By combining design understanding, production control, and structured coordination, we supported the delivery of a high-end hotel that meets both aesthetic expectations and operational demands. Villa Frangipani Mawe Private Villa Project | Bali, Indonesia Asean Sourcing was responsible for the full interior design concept, landscape coordination, product sourcing and selection, and production monitoring for Villa Frangipani Mawe. This holistic scope allowed us to shape the project from the first design idea through to execution, ensuring the final villa felt cohesive, intentional, and true to its original vision. The design concept was inspired by modern slow living in Bali—a lifestyle that values calm, openness, and a strong connection to natural materials. The villa was designed to feel clean, fresh, and unforced, with generous open spaces that encourage light, airflow, and a relaxed daily rhythm. Rather than over-designing, the focus was on restraint, balance, and comfort. Natural materials, honest finishes, and careful restraint defined every design decision. Material selection played a central role in defining the atmosphere. Furniture and built-in elements were produced using natural wood finishes, allowing texture and grain to remain visible rather than concealed. The intention was to let materials speak for themselves, creating warmth without visual clutter and ensuring the spaces would age well over time. The villa comprises three bedrooms, a kitchen, a living area, and a pool, all connected through an open and fluid layout. Selected antique pieces in a black-and-white palette were carefully integrated to add contrast and character, preventing the space from feeling overly minimal. These elements anchor the design, giving the villa a sense of personality while maintaining a calm, modern aesthetic. From a delivery perspective, ASEAN Sourcing managed product sourcing and production monitoring, ensuring consistency between the design intent and the finished pieces. By overseeing fabrication and finishes directly, we reduced the risk of mismatched materials, poor detailing, or compromises during production—common issues in custom villa projects. The result is a private residence that feels effortless yet considered, where design, materials, and execution align naturally.
