This wood is located at the center of the tree or usually we called it heartwood. Furniture made from grade-A teak is very durable because it contains natural oil that protects the teak from weathering.
- Grade B teak: Grade-B teak is produced from the outer section of the heartwood. If the grade-A teak has close grain, on the opposite, grade-B teak’s grain is not. Furthermore, grade-B teak contains lesser natural oil than grade-A teak, so that it has a brighter color and appearance.
- Grade C teak: Grade-C teak made from the outer section of the tree, known as the sapwood. This is the weakest and unreliable teak because this wood can easily split or warped. Grade-C teak has a dull color and is not as strong as the other grades because the grade-C teak has lack of natural oil.
